“Through her entire internship, Mirit proved the highest professional qualities. Her work was creative, conceptual, precise, original and inspiring” Alber Elbaz, Artistic Director, Maison Lanvin, Paris. The concept for Mirit’s Jewelry collection is the unique material she chooses to work with: shuttlecock – the feathered ball used in the game of badminton. The shuttlecocks were re-constructed, colored and combined with gold, silver, pleats, flowers and knitting to create jewelry. Also, the natural feathers from the shuttlecock went threw Electroforming process – a metal forming, which covers the original feathers with silver. Later the silver feathers are plated gold 18 Karat or oxidized to create a “Silver gun” tone. The shape of the feathers inspired her also to work with other materials such as silk organza pleats that give another layer to the collection.
